1.
There will be beds, full of light odours blent, Divans, great couches, deep, profound as tombs, And, grown for us, in light magnificent, Over the flower-stand there will droop strange blooms. Careful of our last flame declining As two vast torches our two hearts shall flare And our two spirits in their double shining Reflect the double light enchanted there. One night, a night of mystic blue and rose A look will pass, supreme, from me to you, Like a long sob, laden with long adieux. And later on, an angel will unclose The door and entering joyously relight The tarnished mirrors and the flames blown to the night.

Black Riders 03:21
Black riders came from the sea. There was clang and clang of spear and shield, And clash and clash of hoof and heel, Wild shouts and the wave of hair In the rush upon the wind: Thus the ride of sin.

about

The first four songs of a solitary, over-educated and underachieving young man (the band name is something of a conceit), recorded alone in a room under rather primitive conditions with violin, cheap guitar and cheaper effects box, laptop computer, piles of books and an ever-growing tangle of cords, shortly after returning to the city of his birth (a nondescript place of medium size near the middle of the North American continent) and first figuring out how to record into a computer as opposed to onto a tape. Words, when present, are not his own, but rather taken from such poems as seemed to fit with the sounds and colors swirling around his head (a practice that was once quite common, though it has fallen into disuse)- the first, from Charles Baudelaire (translated by a pseudonymous pair of Victorian lesbian lovers), and the last from Stephen Crane, more well known for his naturalist stories and novels. They’re distinctly rough around the edges, but he quite remains fond of them, and a number of strangers have said made some very kind comparisons, his favorites being they “sound like an American Belle and Sebastian” or like “a cross between the Velvet Underground and Neutral Milk Hotel.” In any case, should they happen to please they are free for the taking, a gift from his bedroom to your headphones.
